Chestnut Nursery School and Kindergarten

Chestnut Nursery School and Kindergarten (CNSK) is an Early Childhood Education program offered by the United Congregational Church as a community service. The responsibility for the nursery school rests with the church, with the day to day operations being delegated to the Nursery School Committee and the Director. The Committee includes three parents and three church members. The school offers full day care for 48 children — 10 hours per day, 51 weeks per year. Besides the moderate fee schedule, limited scholarship funds are available.
Besides the extensive child caring activities, the Chestnut families participate in numerous extracurricular activites during the year including: The Harvest Family Fun Fest; the Holiday Box Lunch; the Annual Spaghetti Supper; the Grandparent's Lunch; the Ban and Run; and the Mother's and Father's Day parties. Parents are always invited to volunteer their help for our yearly apple orchard visit, all our field trip walks (to the fire station, to a play, to the park), the late spring trip to a zoo or children's museum, or just to share their talents, cultures and personalities in the classroom.
Parents can also participate in events planning at Chestnut through membership in the Parent's Group and/or the Nursery School Committee.

We are accreditated by the National Association for the Education of Young Children and a member of the Worcester Community Partnership for Children.
